Change begins with small actions.  By being conscious of our individual plastic use and joining forces with like-minded people in our community, we are able to make a difference.

We are continuing to collect signatures on our letter to the GUILFORD Board of Selectmen!

Visit plasticoceans.org for more information

  1. Stop Using Plastic Straws: In the US and UK, 550 million straws are thrown away every day.

  2. Skip the Plastic Bottles: Drink beverages from reusable bottles and bring your own mugs. 500 million plastic bottles are used every year

  3. Take Your Groceries Home in Reusable Bags. Worldwide, up to 1 trillion plastic bags are discarded every year.

  4. Use Cloth Diapers, Not Disposable. In the US, 27.4 billion disposables are thrown away every year.

  5. Ditch the Disposable Razor. In the US, over 2 billion razors are thrown away every year.

  6. Give Up Gum. It is made of synthetic rubber (which is plastic). Worldwide, over 100,00 tons of gum are discarded per year.
